Namaste!

Namaste! (hello means from Nepal!)

Wow, I just realised last post is in Year 2013.
And we're in the last quarter of the Year 2014. Oops!

I'm still in holiday mode even back for almost 5 days!

And yes, everytime I just back from the trip, I'll say, I miss that Country.
No exception for this Country, too beautiful. Beautiful scenery, beautiful people, beautiful cultures.
I love it there!

If I were to rank from my previous experiences travelling to South East Asia Countries (Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Nepal)

I must say, this round, my no. 1 is Nepal followed by no.2 Cambodia.
You, two, I definitely go back for more.

Highlight of my Year 2014 is my Nepal trip.
Will blog more about it. Yes, I will.

Total 11 days trip with 5 days of trekking, highest to Everest View Point, 3895m.

People tends to ask why didn't we trek till Everest Base Camp?
Because, we bought the air tickets a year ago, which we didn't have the thought of making to the EBC as we don't have sufficient days of leave to go on such long trip. EBC required about 2 weeks or 14 days to complete it.

We are proud to have make it that far and should be one of the best choice we made. Other trekkers we met along the way, they told us trekking up to Namche Bazar, its the toughest steepest route to Base Camp if compared with the Annapurna region.

I would love to share pictures for now.

Thoughts on Humanity

* This post may be sensitive for some of you. Do feel free to "X" from the browser tab!*

*I may not be an expert im writing, this blog is merely for sharing purposes with not-so-good-grammar english! Haha!*

With the inspirations around me, from the day I'm born into this world (thanks to daddy & mummy for unconditional love showers endlessly), somewhere in the Borneo island (Sarawak, Malaysia).

I may not have a degree from University, partly I'm doing part time for Accountancy (ACCA) after my diploma (which I still yet to complete the course) & working full time with my love-hate job in an audit firm.

Lots of travel plans! Married to the World Best hubby who never fails to show me the meaning of life! Despite of constant long distance relationship, he always put a smile on my face at the end day!

I never stop thanking God. Yes God, He is Great.
Grateful for all the good and bad in my 26 years on Earth!

A new Chapter of life is just a block away (a month to go for Year 2013!)

My inspirations as mentioned above, urge me to write this post, mainly from the humans around me, or those livings.

Some people tends to say this:

Why you love to travel to those poor countries?  (South east asia) OR its dangerous to go that Country! OR oh, why so you choose to stay at dorms instead of comfy hotel with 5 stars service since you are on holiday? OR  why dont travel to Paris or Italy since you have enough funding?

I had tons of them to answer. But, I will answer it in "General" way!

Firstly, I want to share what changes my mind on how color of skins can raise so many different thoughts about them. God created us all equally. Even some countries try to draw clear lines in between races, which I thought is full of nonsense and stupidity they portrait themselves.

When I travelled all the way down to South America (Latin America), I must admit, I didnt look up much information about the surrondings.

Therefore, when my trip from London Gatwick to Barbados (Caribbean island), I started seeing more dark skinned around me. I believe most of them is Brazillian and Indian. I started to have uncool thoughts that ring my mind from I heard around.

Whether in plane or at airport terminals, I find them, just like you and me, nothing evil nor dangerous. Or you might say I'm just lucky!

A smile, a please or thank you is way how you get to know the soul! Consequently, this prove humans tend to judge a book by its cover! So wrong!

Getting along with the two locals, a housekeeper and a cleaner for about a month. I began to realise more wrong assumptions made. Other than their usual loud talkings, which seems more like "threatening" talkings to me, I don't have any other issue on them. They are both very nice, chatty and lots of stories telling!

Even at Hubby's office, the locals will just greet and smile! Nobody will give you that sort of whatever face! They make me feel this is one of the happiest places of earth!

Like any other countries in the world, there is some places with high crime rates, so better to stay out and trust your six sense!

The World is so huge that I'm truly in luck with the chance to experience life in totally different countries twice especially I'm from Asia! (First, New Zealand!)

The riches of life from the people make me more eager to explore the rest countries of South America like Bolivia (which claimed to be one of the world poorest country) , brazil (which claimed to be one of the world dangerous cities)

Secondly, I love to visit economically poor countries! Yes, you might think they are poor in many ways but I assure you, they have the riches in life when you see through their soul! They never fail to give their best smile that warm your heart, feels like home!

Ask youself, what's your "life" achievement excluding the materials  you possesed.

I doubt that, even me, in this technology-influenced and two-faced " corporate" human world can really get a good answer for that question!

I visited the Cambodia, the children at Angkor Wat area, trying hard to sell souvenirs to tourists. What they surprised me is, they are intelligent to learn & speak in foreign languages (some that I know is Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, English) to earn a living! They don't steal! I look highly on those people who try their best to achieve something in life without losing themselves.

I remembered, when we are on tuk tuk to Cheung Ek Killing Field, stopped at traffic light junction, the Cambodian on tuk tuk beside us having some snack from clear plastic bag, unsure of what was it, my friend peek over, they are so kind to offer us to have some. Actually, its mango! Haha!

Always remind yourself that everyone is born with an innocent heart! Its up to which perspective you see from!

Third-ly, I don't blame those around me for being materialistic or trying hard to compete with each others! OR I say they are jealous! For me, that's your life and you are in control! Live the way you want without over-pressured yourself!

I actually thinks when you get to see the world from different perspective, you'll be in awe! God creations is much more interesting! So much more to see rather than man-made materials!

For sharing purposes, some young adult family in Malaysia only earn combined income about RM5,000 a month (about USD1,500). Properties price is forever-increasing! An intermediate double storey cost from RM500,000 onwards in Kuching. And not to mention super expensive cars after 150% tax by Government! Even RM50 (USD15) for groceries won't last a week!

Increased inflation rates and high interest rates on loans, truthfully, every low or middle income household struggle every month! Any unforseen short of funds will only increase debts (credit cards!)

My advice, be wise in your spending! Always ask youself, is it a wants or needs?

Also, don't go compete or jealous with each others!

What I see from my surrounding: "A" got a new thousand dollars "working-wonder vacuum cleaner" and "B" stretching the budget just to get one with reason, everyone has it!

Or, "A" got a new car.  One week later, "B" mentioned about making the deposit for new car! Woohoo!

Typical Asian kiasu attitude! Yes, I know I'm asian too!

Oh you, just be yourself! God created us to be special in our own ways! ;)

Lastly, negativity and revengful only worsen your relationships!

"How much is your skydive & bungy package?"
So I answered.
"Not expensive leh!" Is the answer from that person.

No, I'm not offending anyone here. My thoughts, everyone sitting on the same table over lunch, but everyone has different level stretch of budgets. Some words like "not expensive lah/leh" is sensitive to be used around! You might have that funds but don't go boasting about it. Nobody likes it at all!

I had someone once told me, "Why you bother go searching for cheap houses with poor people like us?  You should just buy those million dollars house!"

Hello? That's sarcasm! You only make a fool of yourself when you said that! Also, we are searching for cost-effective that offers equal benefits to us? it's silly spending million dollars on house, loans continue to be paid by next generation with overstretched budget that can't get me even a cheapo holiday to KL!

I get lots of Why this and that questions that end with sarcasm! Nobody wants to have negativity chi around! Fengshui!

Being revengful is never good for both body and soul!

Especially higher Corporate levels of human! Aha!

Humans greed for power and money! Part & parcel attitude aye?

I see how cruel one can be!
I see how one keep the matter in heart to return for revenge!
I see how one an create chaos just to give himself some entertainment.  Maybe he/she bored!
I see how one only thinks of himself/herself which don't results benefits to oneself!

They leave no exit for you sometimes. Or they kill without much hesitation!

Bear in mind, karma will goes in circle! GOOD deeds will come back. So does bad ones!

Not on you, but your next generation or someone close to you perhaps, which will stab you terribly deep within. Once you realised it, too late!

I understand nobody realised it so soon! Unless, someone guide you! That will always be God, if you open your heart and pray!

Backpacking at Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Part 1

Note: Dear all, im using blogger apps on Android Note 8 and I cant insert photos after paragrapgh. It only appear after my blog post! Terrible apps but I still have to use it because I dont have laptop with me! DO scroll down after post for photos!!!  Thank you!!!!

Our 2013 backpacking mission!

With two guys, Jj and Bobby tag along this trip, the more the merrier!

Booked air tickets 1 year earlier with Airasia promo, a return trip (KUL-> HCM -> KUL) only cost us RM180 (about USD60).

Landed at Ho Chi Minh International Airport in the morning, with the arranged airport transfer by hostel (USD20 per way, van) send us direct to Townhouse 50 Saigon.

You know you are in Saigon when the streets packed with motorcycles!!
And no one really follow the rules of traffic lights!! (We found a tee in market which reads out: Green light I can go, Yellow light I can go, Red light I STILL CAN GO! <- I regret I didnt get this!)

Half an hour stuck in the busy streets and we are greeted with cold drinks at Townhouse 50 Saigon by Britney. She is a friendly staff who will take care of everything! Our mixed dorm rooms is 12 beds eith shared male/female bathroom/toilet. 6 of us, so we took the room space by half! Clean hostel and good location for about USD10 per pax/bed.

After we are shown our dorms and locked stuff in locker, we went for a quite Vietnamese bites across the street which recommended by Britney.

I must say that, most menus and road signs in Saigon didn't have English translation, abit hard for us to communicate with locals. Lucky this shop have proper translation!

We ordered sticky rice with Vietnamese steamed pork & braised pork, Vietnamese sticky rice with onion, and of course the must-have Vietnamese Spring rolls! (By the way, they always served cold tea at every cafes/restaurants when they hand out menus!)

Headed back to Townhouse where our shuttle waiting for us to Cu Chi Tunnel! For your information, they have bus tour service to there but we couldnt make it on time as the bus leave around 8am and we only landed after that mentioned time. So thats why we get van shuttle!

Cu Chi Tunnel is about 40km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, takes about an hour ride. Admission to the tunnel, a guided trip cost us USD5 each.

The guide showed us the tunnels are used to provide refuge & defense the American soldiers. He even showed us the weapons used and bring us to walk in one of the shortest tunnel which is reconstructed to fit a normal size human goinf through! Because those Vietnamese in older days, they are much small sized!

How they survived under the tunnels? We are shown those "breathing holes" on soils and usually either under or next to the trees which is not easy spotted by the Soldiers.

Such a tough time for Vietnamese to live beneath the soils during the war for about 25 years. They cook, eat, sleep, study, recreating weapons from those used bomb by American and even surgery room down there!

Towards the end of the visit, we went to shooting range! We chose AK47 (which is 35.000VND per bullet, but must buy 10 bullets at least). Oh gawd, the person in charge during our shooting is a short tempered man who always instructed us to "shoot" in his loud voice and strict looking face! Every shoots was rushed and not really having a fun time!

We leaded to hand washing area, spring water from bamboo. And we are served tapiaco (asian potatoes) with combination of peanuts, sugar and salt as dip for the potatoes and pot of pandan tea!

Group photos taken with the tour guide before we headed the exit!
I recommend this place is a must visit, if your want to know more about Vietnamese history. I always love history!

And we had our dinner the Vietnamese way!! We found this little noodles shop flooded with locals. And Bobby said, this must be good! Low tables and chairs, and by the roadside! We shared bowls of beef noodles! And they served herbs vegetables too, add to your liking to the soups or just munch it!

And our next Vietnamese food galore is economic fast food!
How fun to end a day! :)

P/s while im blogging this, im having a cup of Vietnamese coffee! I never like black coffee but I fall in love with them! ♡

Phuong Trang bus Saigon to Dalat, Vietnam

Our next destination after spending a day in Ho Chi Minh.

Shuttle took us from hotel to the bus waiting station at 4 in the morning. A bus trip, cost us USD11 each, from Saigon to Dalat by Phuong Trang. Book it when you are here in Vietnam instead on website (because its in vietnamese and no reply to email!) Highly recommended!

I found so less info about bus on my mentioned trip and we didnt know which bus company to choose and we dont want ended up like what we experienced in Cambodia (shall blog about that someday). A few bus companies got not-so-good reviews online, like mad drivers, dangerous overtaking and poor bus conditions.

But this Company, Phuong Trang is a big relieved for me. They are clean and organised & air conditioned! Well dressed professional and strict driver! And they do stop at every rest stops on the way, which is owned by them too. Every rest stops have toilets of course, convinience stores or small cafe to have a quick bite! And not to mention, they have FREE WIFI!! Im the happiest among my backpack-kakis (travel mates) because I want to update my family, hubby and instagram!!

This is how a sleeper bus looks like. We are all arranged on top row seatings. A small drinking water, wet towel and blanket is given (include in fare!) The seat is adjustable. And we have to take off our shoes and pack it in a plastic bag provided because the some locals tend to sleep along the corridors!

For your info, the bus will arrived at their own bus station at Dalat, and they will have free shuttle to sent the passengers to respective hotels or places in Dalat!

Double storey seatings!

3 rows seating!

The whole journey from Ho Chi Minh to Dalat,
is about 6 to 7 hours of journey! Along the highland highway, small villages can be spotted and rainforests! Will blog more about our 2 days in Dalat (Both city and Famous Crazy House!)

Lots of overdue travel posts!

I scrolled back my older posts in blog, realised that I have so many overdue travel posts to blog about! I haven't even finish blogging about Cambodia , and I have Vietnam trip (Ho Chi Minh & Dalat) too! Also about life at Guyana!

I will try my best to get this blog updated before I start off another awesome holidays in December!

Thank God for everything! :)

I flew half of the globe!

Hi all,
12 hours time difference from Malaysia time.
So when its 8am here, it would be 8pm back at home.

So here is my route all the way here,
From Malaysia to Singapore, which i have around 10hours of stopover, met up with friends for hawker lunch & heavenly high-sugar dinner at Swensens before heading to airport.

I only reached airport 2 hours departure and was lucky enough to go through all securities and immigration swiftly.

Im on board!! Flying with British Airways Boeing 747-400 for the first time, mixed feelings of excited and nervous run in my veins flying this long journey all by myself.

If you want to fly from Singapore to London, try Emirates huge and spacious A380 but with stopover at Dubai and arrived at Gatwick Airport.

My 13 hours flight:
The flight is not full, maybe due to Autumn/Winter season so less people flying, I assume?

Every 3 seats occupied by 2 persons only. So I get to take additional pillow and empty space for my stuff.

I put on my winter sock & merino hoodie as I board on plane. Keep me warm enough throughout the flight.

In flight entertainment

The pathetic looking beef noodles & pickles

White wine served

When I woke up...

Sausage & eggs for breakfast!

They served two meals, beef noodles for late night dinner and sausage eggs for breakfast! Had some wine which put me to better sleeping mode on.

Throughout the night, air stewards will come on by serving water. A plus for me! :)

Arrived the Heathrow Airport on time at 5am local time. Immediately went to the National Express self ticketing counter which is on your left after baggage collection.

National Express is a coach transfer between the airports and even provide bus/train services to in United Kingdom and some other country.

£25 one way ticket to Gatwick Airport because my next flight is from there. The waiting station is just in front of te exit gate of the airport. I actually go around asking and only to find out it just outside the main gate.

Cool windy morning & while waiting for the coach, I chatted with a lady who is going off to Scotland to attend wedding. And all this while she is working in New Zealand. She is so kind, trying to help me with my baggages and show me ways when we arrived at Gatwick airport after 1 hour drive. She wishes me Good luck and safe trip before we go separate ways.

Waiting time is tough, but then immigration and securities is quick process! My next flight gate not shown until 10.15am so I tried my luck with internet! I obviously cannot live without it. 45min of free internet provided at airports and you able to reconnect after expired time.

The whole airport and restaurant was so packed! Im spoilt with healthy light breakfast choices at EAT! Kill rest of my time window shopping at duty free before I board thr next plane to Barbados!!

Mixed berries granola & yogurt!

My next flight to Barbados with British Airways

Beef casserole, bean salad, chocolate orange mousse, mini coke & red wine. Sinful meals served!

Heading to Barbados!

Snack time! Chicken caeser sandwiches & tea!

Frost at -61deg on hot noon!

Barbados!

I managed to capture this just before landing!

6 hours flight to Barbados, touch down at 3pm. My next flight is 9pm, oh gawddddddd.... another 6 hours to kill!! I started to feel my body fuel is draining!!

Landed at Barbados!

Evening, lookout from Barbados departure hall.

Boarded cramped small plane to Trinidad & Tobago with Caribbean Airlines. Its not professional at all when the air stewardess keep laughing and not paying attention while making in flight announcements. *shake head*

To my dismay, after my an hour flight, my next and ah, finally the last flight to catch of the day to Guyana delay till after midnight. Gosh!! You can imagine how hungry I am, no shower for 2 days, airport wifi connection is poor and I have to stay wide awake all throughout because I have hand luggages with me.

I finally relieved when I board the last flight. Feeling excited again because Im going to see Hubby soon after months away from each other when he left to work during February.

Feeling disappointed at the same time, because Caribbean Airline plane not tidy up! They had some leftover lunchbox tucked underneath the seat in front of me. Yuck!

And yes, another an hour flight!
I have finally reached Guyana around 2am!!

And having my first-time-ever tough immigration to pass through. The officers giving me bad times and im the last person to leave the custom and baggage collection. I was pissed off and arguing with the officers!! And it passed 3am!!! &#!&$#!@!

Hubby is patience enough to wait me at the airport waiting area. By the time I reach Hubby's place, its already sunrise! Damn, I just keep non stop complaining the custom officers!!

2 days of flyings. Blame my hormone, stressful indeed.

p/s all photos taken from my Note 3.
