Attended,
Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra East Malaysia Tour 2008 held at Dewan Santapan, Dewan Undangan Negeri last friday.

It's their first performance in East Malaysia and Kuching.
Two performances by them, the Martinee concert & the Full concert.

I'm exicited about it because I always want to attend the
Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in West Malaysia.

I love♥ the Cello Concerto in B minor by Antonin Dvorak!
It's the last solo concerto wrote by him for his friend.

The best performances for the night is
Symphony No.2 in C minor "Little Russian" - by Tchaikovsky!!
The finale is the most colourful variations for the orchestra
which ends with loud applause from the crowd ;)

Before the orchestra begins ;)
No photo taking during the orchestra, sorry! no pics taken!

Bringing Knowledge, Help and Hope

MV Doulos is finally here in Kuching, Malaysia again!!
It's been a decade or more since it arrived here when I'm still little.

From the Wikipedia:
the world's oldest active ocean-faring passenger ship!
owned by a German Charity Gute Bucher fur Alle.
biggest floating bookshop in the world.
currently doing the last world tour before it decommissioned in 2010.

So, those in Kuching, better don't miss this last chance!
Visit the bookship! Support them. Buy the books (quite cheap). Charity.

By the way, there's sections for places from all over the world.
Africa, Korea, India, Switzerland, etc.

I got my name written in Hangul, Korean writing!

Also got myself a compact bible, some books
and a colouring book! LOL. *childish me*

Shopping for Christmas at tHe Spring later in the noon.
Roxy Christmas gift from boyfriend
I still want Lomo Fisheye No. 2 limited edition by Paul Simon for Christmas!
Can I have one dear Santa in North Pole?
Or just a simple Lomo Fisheye No.2 will do!

friday:
my last day for my three years in an audit firm.
packed all my stuff with heavy heart.
I won't be coming back on Monday. and never again.
Returned the keys & the access card.

Halfway cleaning/clearing my stuff,
Already had the christmas wallpaper on ;)

After cleaning/clearing my stuff.
Do you notice the green plant in the pic?
In Hokkien, it's call "Bak Chao".
Chinese belief, the "bak chao" is commonly used to
ward off negative energy or to cleanse oneself.

Colleagues said, something wasn't right in the office.
Everyone fall sick. Bad things happened.
So, they brought that plant to office,
hoping that it can ward of the negative energy in the office.

Hope so ;)

saturday:
dad's birthday.
I made cupcakes for him ;)

Simple cupcake,
Basic vanilla cupcake receipe
Must have ingredients:

175g self-raising flour
150g castored sugar
150g butter (softened)
3 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla powder

this recipe above can make up to 12 cupcakes (normal size)

First of all, mix the butter and the castor sugar together.

Then, add the eggs.

This is after mixing all the ingredients.
Beat until light and creamy.

Divide the mixture evenly between the cake cases.

Just pour mixture, half only. it's gonna rise up.

My 1st batch in the oven.
Bake for 20 minutes until risen and firm.

10 minutes later...

Out from the oven.
Strong vanila aroma fills the kitchen.
Mmmm~

It's so tempting!

Try it out yourself.
It's easy to make ;)

Simple decoration of wordings with icing sugar.
HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY DAD ;)

Love always ;)

p/s: I planned to make 24 cupcakes but ended 36 cupcakes. I guess it's due to the small size of cup cases.

Current feeling: dilemma

I'm speechless.
All of us thought that cessation of operation is the best solution.
But, when each of us received the news,
it really hurts our heart, mind & soul deeply.

It affects me so much.
Been there since 2005.

Wanted to leave twice but end up staying back.
Those days, I never even have time to spent with my family & friends at all.
Back then, was a fresh graduate from Certified Accounting Technician (CAT).
My first job.
It exhausted me so much.
I never been in so tight dateline + so much works need to be done.
What i'm proud of, I did learn a lot from there.
Everything from basics.

Secretarial works.

It closely related to account/audit/tax. But not in ACCA syllabus. I quite like secretarial work and even ever thinking of take up this course. Need to do resolution, minutes, update statutory regsiter/minutes book, etc. all by myself. I was the youngest one there, no one willing to teach me at all. My manager often want me to help out, I always say "Yes or Ok". I never say NO.

Accounting works.

The 1st day, the senior handed me client's document for me to keyed in. My mind was blank. My 1st thought was "How I know what to do ah???". With my kiasu attitude, I didn't ask much and proceed with the keyed in. I did get scolded by my manager on some errors made, but worth it lah. At least I know it next time and won't repeat it.

Audit works.

Honestly, I didn't learn much of that during my 1st year. Gradually able to handle doing the whole process of company's audit myself. Thanks to my senior, Teo. He taught me alot when others don't. This is corporate world. So, work independently.

Tax works.

I love tax so much. I think is the best part in my job because of the wide scope. Dealing with the tax authorities, tax computation, monitoring company's tax revision, etc. The only department that I want specialise in.

Admin works.

When the other partner of the firm left, my manager insisted me to take over the other partner place. Do payroll, EPF, SOCSO, own company's service tax, pay utilities bills, etc. Imagined, I need to handle a lot of stuff but only get a little increament in my pay. Dissapointed.
I still hold on until today.
Life in current office is not so hectic since the takeover.
All of us, knew that too many things happened recently,
which left us, going to be jobless soon.
13 days left.

This time, my heavy heart is force to leave.
Crying myself to sleep every night ='(
